SUMMARY:Licht Luft Scheiße: Circular time\, End times and the Good News
DESCRIPTION:2. August\, 10-16 Uhr\, 3. und 4. August\, 12-16 Uhr (EN) \nWorkshop mit Marc Herbst (EN) \nimage from https://www.jooyoungchoi.com/about \nThis is an activist journalism course based concretely in the embedded struggle of the Prinzesssinningarten today and the speculative institutional curriculum of the Nachbarschaftsakademie’s 99 years of future-based education. Therefore this course must embrace a concrete creativity. That is\, it must have an expanded definition of journalism- of the ways of accounting for the facts of possible stories and the possible facts of the actual stories in and over time. It recognizes the power of writing stories to organize facts in such a way so as to contribute to a developing narrative. \n\nThe goal of this course is to consider and produce ways of publicly accounting for and organizing people’s publicly political narratives in a sensible way through the changes and stabilities of our world. This is the act of journalism. Therefore\, it involves the short study of the nature of time\, the recounting of stories\, the modes for their marking- and the production of modes for what can be seen as public records. \nUnder consideration as ways of journalism (keeping public record) are\, for example\, Occupy’s human microphone\, traditional ritual cycles\, the city of Harburg’s Monument Against Fascism and the Taz. \n\nMarc Herbst is an artist\, editor\, researcher\, and some-times activist\, with a deep and inter-disciplinary approach across the ranges of art\, art theory and social sciences and experience with natural sciences. Herbst is a co-editor of the Journal of Aesthetics & Protest- www.joaap.org\, a serious and independent project publishing (in print and online) texts on art\, culture and critical theory. In this way\, as an editor\, organizer and publisher he has supported many other artists and theorists. He has worked more then 20 years as an independent researcher\, social justice advocate\, journalist and publisher for also for  governmental institutions and universities. Rather than anything schematic\, he likes the name „weirdo think-tank“ for the Journal Project. Herbst completed his PhD at Goldsmiths Centre for Cultural Studies in October 2018. \n  \nWorkshop-Anmeldung bitte mit Name(n) und Workshoptitel an:\nFor workshop registration\, please send your name(s) and workshoptitel to:\nlichtluftscheisse@prinzessinnengarten.net \n\nDas Gesamtprojekt „Licht Luft Scheiße. \n
