SUMMARY:Licht Luft Scheiße: Reading Grounds
DESCRIPTION:6.\, 13.\, 20. August\, 18-20 Uhr (EN)\nReading Grounds – histories and presents of extractive Agri-cultural politics and how to resist\nWorkshop mit Naomi Hennig und Nicole Wolf \n \nBild: Nicole Wolf \n\nThis workshop offers a space and time to read together\, in the garden\, in a supportive environment\, with no evaluation. No preparatory reading is required\, texts will be shared when we meet and we read together sentence by sentence with the possibility to sit back and just listen as well. Every participant can also be a facilitator and the collective reading practice can be developed together along the way. The suggested starting point is to read into and along the histories of current agri-cultural extractive politics through texts on colonialism and plantation politics and their impact on structural and material changes to land and soil that often form the background to current environmental disasters. Situated histories of experiences with land and soil also effect the possibilities and shape of forms of resistance and new or renewed relations to land and soil\, repair might then not be a solution for all. In this way the violent histories of also German colonial plantation politics are direct precursors to current climate injustice and reading on diverse regional histories might inform how to think and act with the entanglements present at Prinzessinnengarten itself. \nNaomi Hennig lives in Berlin\, where she works as artist\, curator and project coordinator. She has been involved in artist-run initiatives and institutions\, including nGbK and District\, Berlin. Her artistic work is based on moving image\, as well as archival and multidisciplinary research\, covering areas such as art history\, antifascism\, economics\, gentrification and land issues. Her current research focusses on the history of neoliberalization and its ecological implications. Curatorial collaborations include Galerie im Turm exhibition program (2013-2015)\, Artist Placement Group (Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Berlin & Summerhall\, Edinburgh\, 2015/16)\, Oh So Solid\, All That Air (Museum für Fotografie\, Berlin\, 2017). \nNicole Wolf ist Filmwissenschaftlerin\, Anthropologin und Kuratorin. Wolf ist Dozentin am Department of Visual Cultures Goldsmiths\, University of London. Kuratorische Projekte zuletzt: „Moving Politics – Cinemas from India“\, dreiteiliges Filmprogramm im Kino Arsenal anlässlich der Ausstellung „Being Singular Plural: Moving Images from India“ im Deutsche Guggenheim\, Berlin (2010); „No Man’s Land“\, Filmprogramm für die Ausstellung „Lines of Control\, commemorating 60 years of partition of the Indian Subcontinent“\, kuratiert von Green Cardamon (London). Publikationen: u.a. „Weg in Berlin – Aber echt! Dokumentarisch-fiktionale Randnotizen“ / „Away in Berlin – Really! Documentary-fictional Side Notes“\, in: Stefanie Schulte Strathaus\, Florian Wüst (Hg.)\, „Wer sagt denn\, dass Beton nicht brennt\, hast Du’s probiert? Film im West-Berlin der 80er Jahre“; „Lovers of Life for Heterogeneous Time“ in: „Identity Theft: Cultural Colonisation and contemporary Art.“ (Hg.) Jonathan Harris\, University of Liverpool and Critical Forum Tate Liverpool\, 2008. \n
